3 colour camo helmet, this helmet came to me via a couple of visitors to my museum. They
asked if I would be interested in a helmet that they had inherited from the family. So as one does
I told them I would love to acquire the helmet for my collection. 2 days later it arrived in a box, I
called and made an offer and the rest is history as they say. A totally genuine 3 colour camo
from where I don't know. The original owner has written his name on the liner "HReger".

This is a 100% original Jersey helmet, its also one of the hardest of all the helmets to find.
German medical troop helmets used to be plentiful as no one wanted them, collectors were all
after combat helmets. Many of these medical helmets simply rusted away in the German tunnels
over here. This one may have actually been one which was taken from the tunnels early on, as
you can see in the photo's it has acquired a deep pitted rusty side to what is otherwise a really
good helmet. Of the 3 I know of in the Island (2 of which are mine), they are all the same and
appear to have been painted at the same time. All 3 have over spray on the chin straps in
exactly the same way, and they were all picked up at different times in different places.

This is a Jersey/Channel Islands 3 colour camo helmet. I acquired it in June 2005, and is the
first helmet that I have added to my collection is somewhere approaching 4 years. This
particular helmet is in totally uncleaned/untouched condition, just how they should be. The
helmet has recently come from the house where it was left after the end of the Occupation, and
that tied up the name and rank inside ties the helmet up perfectly with the sellers information
that it came from a soldier from the local gun battery. The name inside is painted onto the inside
of the rear neck guard "Oschtz Herlinghaus". This soldier this helmet belonged to was stationed
at Battery Haeseler, La Coupe, St.Martin where there were 4 15cm K18 artillery pieces.

This is a 3 colour camo helmet that I picked up in Normandie, France. I am always pleased to
find camo helmets they are more individual than the plain examples that are normally seen.
The green, sand and brown that you also see in our local Jersey helmets is just a little different
to these Normandie camo's....perhaps its just down to the man who sprayed them. This
example still bears the original owners name "Matzner"
Originally a double decal Luftwaffe helmet, but now a 3 colour camo. This helmet came from
Guernsey. The attached wire is totally original to the piece as close inspection shows that even
the wire has camo paint on its underside showing the helmet was sprayed with it in place.
There is a good showing of the original Luftwaffe blue/grey in places and the decals can be
seen under the camo paint. The original owners initials are painted into the rear neck guard
"AP".
